NEW FOR SUMMER '21! Going Blue: Online Pre-Arrival Course for New International Students

An online pre-arrival course for newly admitted first-year, transfer, and visiting international students at the University of Michigan

Course Overview

Are you an international student beginning your time at U-M this fall? Going Blue offers you a unique opportunity to get ready for your first semester at Michigan. You’ll meet other U-M students, learn about campus culture and academic expectations, and receive extensive individualized feedback from the instructor.

This online course prepares you to succeed at U-M by introducing you to campus life and culture. You will learn about U-M resources that support students who speak English as a second or additional language as well as strategies to speak interactively, and to write academically. You will track your progress and set goals for success with a Personal Engagement Plan (PEP). You will also make friends and establish an early support network before you arrive on campus. A flexible “asynchronous” course structure allows you to participate from any time zone and complete assignments according to your own schedule, as long as you meet weekly deadlines.

Join other new Michigan students in this interactive and engaging online course. You will build friendships and identify resources and campus communities to support you from the day you start your U-M journey. We are looking forward to meeting you this summer - Go, Blue!
