Program Costs -- Summer 2020

Tuition* (Total must be received by the tuition deadline)

*Includes required $500 application deposit (see below) and all 
ELI + U-M fees. Does not include mandatory health insurance or room and board.


Course Materials — (to be purchased separately)

Books and other course materials are purchased separately online or at local bookstores.

***Approximate. Program costs do not include health insurance. All students must have US health insurance while attending ELI Summer Programs. Health insurance can be arranged through the University of Michigan International Center during the ELI Summer Programs first-day orientation.

*IMPORTANT NOTE ON FACILITIES ACCESS: Participants in ELI Summer Programs have access to U-M libraries and computing centers on campus. Access to U-M sports and fitness facilities is available for an additional fee.  


Payment Information

Tuition: Deposit

A deposit of $500.00 must be received along with your completed application by the application deadline. This deposit applies to your tuition and is not refundable if you decide not to attend the program. The deposit will be refunded only if you are not accepted to the program.

Tuition: Deadline

Tuition must be paid in full by the tuition deadline. The English Language Institute is not responsible for exchange rate fees, bank charges or taxes. Once we have processed your application, you will receive a packet of information regarding your participation in the program. For more information, please see the page After You Apply.

Sponsored Students

If you are a sponsored student, you must provide the English Language Institute with a letter stating the terms of sponsorship, the name and e-mail address of a contact person at the sponsoring agency, and the mailing address to which the bill for tuition and fees should be sent. Tuition must be paid by the tuition deadline.
