Katie Coleman is a Lecturer II at the U-M English Language Institute in Ann Arbor, MI, where she has been teaching academic writing, speaking, and grammar courses since 2015. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Katie coordinates the ELI’s “Summer in Michigan” program, serves on the ELI’s curriculum committee, and leads a grant-funded project to develop immersive XR/VR instructional materials. Prior to joining the ELI, Katie developed standardized English language tests at Michigan Language Assessment, received her MA TESOL degree at Eastern Michigan University, and taught ESL as a Literacy AmeriCorps member in Palm Beach County, FL. She is active in local and international TESOL organizations and currently serves on the MITESOL Advisory Board as Submissions Editor of the MITESOL Journal.
