This highly-interactive four-week online course provides newly-admitted U-M international graduate students a unique opportunity to prepare for academic, cultural, and professional success before beginning their academic programs. Each participant receives extensive individualized feedback from the instructor.
You will learn about the cultural expectations and academic language conventions of graduate study and research in the U.S., as well as campus culture both in and outside the classroom, virtual and in-person.
You will read articles, watch short video lectures and complete assignments. You will refine your language skills through online discussions. The flexible course structure means that you can complete assignments at any time of the day or night as long as you meet weekly deadlines.
Join other new Michigan graduate students in this interactive and engaging online course. You will build friendships and learn about resources to support you from the day you start your graduate student journey. We are looking forward to meeting you!
