The Eisenberg Institute kicks off its winter programing on January 17, 2013 with Dario Gaggio’s lecture, “Rural Modernities: The Politics of Landscape in Postwar Tuscany.” Gaggio, an associate professor of history at the University of Michigan, is the first of six scholars featured in this term’s Thursday Speaker series. Other guests include Victor Lieberman (University of Michigan), Lynda Coon (University of Arkansas), Anne Gerritsen (University of Warwick), Sudipta Sen (University of California, Davis), and Sharad Chari (University of the Witwatersrand). The Friday Workshop series begins on January 18, 2013 with “The Country and the City: 40 Year Later,” featuring panelists Paula Curtis (Ph.D. Student, History, University of Michigan), Ben Graham (Ph.D. Candidate, History, University of Michigan), and Sarah Mass (Ph.D. Student, History, University of Michigan).
