About
I'm the technician for the Duffy Lab in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Our lab investigates the ecology and evolution of disease using the Daphnia/parasite study system. I split my time between conducting experiments in the lab, collecting field data in inland lakes in southeast Michigan, mentoring undergraduate students, and keeping the lab organized and well supplied.
In particular I have investigated the genetic structure present in populations of the parasite Metschnikowia bicuspidata for my undergraduate Honors Thesis in the Duffy Lab, and am working on experiments involving the effects of spore degradation, predation, and the presence of multiple hosts and parasites upon epidemics.
