Jon X. Eguia is a microeconomic theorist working on questions related to political economy and collective decision-making. He received his PhD from the California Institute of Technology in 2007. Since 2020 he is a Professor of Economics at Michigan State University. Previously he worked at New York University, at the University of Bristol, and at Harvard University. During the 2021-22 academic year, he is a Visiting Scholar in Economics at the University of Michigan. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of the European Economic Association. His current research includes theoretical analyses of questions on implementation and institutional design, along with more applied projects on polarization, on multilateral conflict and regime change, and on evaluating partisan fairness in redistricting maps.
