Professor David Lam was interviewed on WBEZ Chicago’s Worldview about youth unemployment. Lam and other researchers have found that youths, typically people that are 15 to 24 years old, are twice as likely than more established workers to be unemployed. The ratio remains fairly consistent across countries and regardless of how good or bad a country’s unemployment rate is.

David Lam is Professor of Economics, Director of the Institute for Social Research, and Research Professor in the Population Studies Center.
