What were your educational/career goals when you applied to the MAE Program?  To become an economist in a bank or institution.

Why did you decide to pursue your MAE degree at the University of Michigan?  I was attracted by the applied nature of the program (vs. more academic/theoretical) as well as the opportunity to take business school courses and courses from other schools. I was also excited about the overall environment of the University of Michigan.

What did you enjoy most about the MAE Program?  The highly flexible structure of the program. You could essentially put together your own tailored applied economics program with a core economics curriculum and a focus on finance/business/policy or other field.

How has your MAE degree contributed to your work today?  The skills obtained through project work, interdisciplinary exercises and overall rigor of the program definitely gave me the right preparation for my current job.

What advice do you have for MAE graduates looking for a job or internship?  Don't ever slack when it comes to applications, keep at it until you get what you want. Don't be put off by a series of unsuccessful attempts to land something. You'll never score a goal if you don't keep shooting. That also means settling for the second or third best internship first, and getting your dream job next year. Moreover, meet as many people as possible, at as many career fairs and other opportunities as possible. Oftentimes it's just a matter of bumping into someone who thinks you'd be a great fit in his company. It'll all be worth it at the end.
