The Museum of Natural History on the Ann Arbor campus is a familiar cultural feature. The Museum is visited by thousands of school children and families every year. The  main exhibit floor is known for its impressive displays of extinct life, but there is another side to the Museum:. the world-class research collections which supports ongoing investigations across a wide range of specialties. On January 27th, from noon to 5PM, collection areas, research laboratories, exhibit preparation areas, and other spaces not usually open to the public were opened for the annual "Behind the Scenes" event. Scientist-curators, collection managers, exhibit preparators, and student researchers, discussed their work and the ongoing mission of the Museum.
