Our Funding Priorities
Located in the mountains just south of Jackson Hole, the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences Camp Davis Rocky Mountain Field Station has provided an unparalleled learning experience each summer since 1929. This ideal outdoor classroom offers some of the most scenic and interesting geology, ecology, and history in North America. Gifts from alumni and friends as well as funding from the University have made major renovations for the 2019 field season possible. Updated student housing prepares Camp Davis for its second century of service to the Department’s mission - a world-class education in the Earth and environmental sciences.
Earth & Environmental Science Strategic Fund:
Gifts to Earth & Environmental Science Strategic Fund will be used to support groundbreaking research and teaching initiatives that are not funded by traditional channels. Funds could be used for “state-of-the-art” scientific equipment or technology upgrades for research and learning, seed money for faculty proposals for promising research or teaching ideas, post-doctoral training, or other opportunities to support our research and teaching mission. Gifts to the Strategic Fund will support the Department’s research-related programming and teaching needs.
