Earth Camp’s first Crowdfunding Campaign just ended – we raised over $11,000 to support Earth Camp participants! We wish to extend a huge thank you to all who generously gave, to the Alumni Advisory Board members for the strong starting support and to the many faculty for spreading the word and helping us over the finish line at the end. Securing outside funding for Earth Camp is a top priority for this year and this successful campaign was a great way to kick things off.

We have four new Earth Camp students starting at Michigan this fall - two as EARTH majors, and two undeclared. This brings our total Earth Camp alumni at UM to eight. They will be around for the AAB student events, so please introduce yourselves.

Earth Camp, our department’s high-school outreach program, is a tremendous way to ignite the passions of aspiring scientists, and therefore lead them into a career path they might not have otherwise considered.
