Camp Davis Enrollment Continues to Grow
Camp Davis enrollments have grown dramatically over the past 20 years, from an average enrollment of 30-40 students in the late 1990s to well over 100 students each year for the past several years. This summer, we project our largest Camp participation yet, with 150 students enrolled for courses. Of these, 137 will participate in Earth and Environmental Science courses, ranging in topics from environmental science and ecology to energy and field methods, and 13 in a History and Literature course. This dramatic increase in Camp Davis enrollment in part reflects the overall growth and diversification of the Earth and Environmental Sciences major, and the increased interest of students in earth and environmental science education and in the close faculty-student connections and experiential learning that are a hallmark of a Camp Davis education.
