Smith Lectures
Throughout the Fall and Winter terms, the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences hosts the William T. Smith Lecture Series which brings in distinguished speakers from other universities and research institutions. These lectures are financed by a generous gift from William T. Smith.
Dorr Lecture
The annual Dorr Lecture is Co-sponsored by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Museum of Paleontology. The topic of the talk is in the field of Sedimentology and/or Paleontology. The event is funded by the John A. Dorr Jr. Memorial Scholarship fund.
Ermine Cowles Case Memorial Lecture
This annual lecture, named in honor of the late Collegiate Professor of Paleontology Ermine Cowles Case, is hosted by the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology each spring.
