The Gender Consciousness Symposium took place on December 8, 2018 at the University of Michigan.
The symposium featured presentations from students from four schools (Belleville High, Central Academy, Lincoln High School, and Washtenaw International High School). The high school students reflected on the evolution of their gender consciousness through their dialogues and writings on the challenges of gender, race, and religion in America. Community partners from Unified presented the HIV Module. University of Michigan students, who worked with the high school students, discussed their experience in the teaching the module.
