About
Ben is an Intermittent Lecturer for the Comprehensive Studies Program during Summer Bridge. He has taught for CSP since the summer of 2018, teaching ENG 125, CSP 105, and CSP 100, but he currently works with the CSP 100 cohort teaching academic success through critical thinking and metacognition. Ben was born in West Virginia but grew up in Michigan, and he earned both his Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Master of Arts in English (writing/literature) at Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula.
While Ben has spent much of his young adulthood traveling, hiking long-distance trails, and bicycling around the Great Lakes, his great adventure now is raising his 4-year-old son with his partner in Grosse Pointe Park, while unsuccessfully trying to train their 85-lb. black lab named Murphy. Even though Ben has been teaching in higher education for nearly 15 years, it is the Summer Bridge Program he most looks forward to because of the incredible students he gets to meet, work with, and learn from each year.
