...the opportunity to work with outstanding students.  The work we do in CSP matters — we're making a difference in individual students’ lives as well as in communities that historically have been excluded from the “Michigan experience”.  CSP faculty and staff are engaged and passionate — we work hard and are excited to see our scholars succeed.

...class to be very active. I march around the classroom talking with students about math and students spend a lot of time in class working together. I expect students to come to class prepared, having spent time grappling with the material outside of class.

...that the major they choose is not all that important, in the grand scheme of things.  What is most important is focusing on the skills you're developing and how those skills will help you solve problems that are meaningful to you. If you finish college with a strong set of skills, you can do anything!

...these four things that I love (in no particular order): the most beautiful of wives, the most ridiculous of children, fishing, and mathematics. Aside from these, I enjoy building projects, cooking, and exploring on foot or by canoe.
