My favorite thing about teaching in CSP is...

...being a part of a program that provides a safe learning environment for a community of diverse students.

From my classes, incoming students should expect...

...to be treated with dignity and respect, and with high expectations.  This means that, regardless of background, I believe my students have demonstrated that they deserve to be here at U-M, and I expect to see evidence of their brilliant minds and work ethic. I also expect students to struggle with some content, and I do everything I can to help them navigate the course material.

My favorite piece of advice for undergraduate students is...

...to think of your college experience as your first full-time job, and as an investment.  You may not be getting paid for your work but you are investing in your future self.  Your every decision and action (or lack of action) is important to your future.

In my free time, I enjoy...

spending time with my two golden retrievers.  We do a lot of hiking trails, training, and playing.  I like reading books and articles on science, politics, and philosophy. I am also a huge sports fan, particularly of U-M football and basketball.

I would also like to add...

...as long as students are willing to work hard and push themselves, CSP’s faculty and staff are dedicated to helping them on their journey.  Our top priority is student success.
