Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. is one of the original LSA YAC regions, led by Evan Viau and Meredith Westerlund. They often host large events with other U-M alumni in the area and are active participants in the LSA Mentorship Program. Leadership Team

Meredith Westerlund graduated in 2013 with a B.A. in political science and a minor in scandinavian studies. While at U-M she was involved in Appreciate + Reciprocate and Dance Marathoin. She is currently the assistant director of leadership annual giving at Gearge Washington University. She joined YAC because she loved jer experience at Michigan and wants to get more involved in the alumni community in D.C. All day, she works with alumni to connect them back to their alma mater, and realized she wanted to connect back to hers.

Evan Viau graduated in winter of 2016 with a B.A. in political science and a minor in history. While at U-M he participated in Air Force ROTC, Michigan Foreign Policy Council, and Alpha Phi Omega. He is currently a legislative clerk at the Committee on Engery and Commerce. Evan joined YAC to create a home away from home and meet with new Michigan grads in the D.C. area.
