Chicago is one of the original LSA Young Alumni Council regions, established in 2011. They are a very active and engaged team, and do a wonderful job of creating their own events while also taking advantage of everything the City of Chicago has to offer! They have organized a football and trivia brunch, a movie in Millennium Park, a group soul cycle class, and an alumni outing to Taste of Chicago. If you would like to get involved with the LSA YAC in Chicago, please fill out either the interest form or event mailing list.

LSA YAC Chicago hosted a professional networking event in May in partnership with the Alumni Association’s Club of Greater Chicago (UMCGC). The event welcomed recent U-M grads and student interns to the Windy City on the 17th floor of the WeWork National Building. Over 50 alums, friends and students attended the event and were able to network in small group discussions. Speakers at the event discussed topics covering general networking tips and tricks, leveraging LinkedIn, salary negotiation, how to know if grad school is right for you, and other relevant topics. The event concluded with another open networking session where students were able to follow up with specific alumni and speakers.
