Your sites individual pages are based on a series of templates that can be used again and again throughout the site. Templates bring consistency to your site and across the entire College, but as the channels under this category demonstrate, there are a number of different templates to choose from and therefore quite a bit of flexibility that enables you to create unique pages.
Users interact with your website by selecting different pages or "channels." Different types of pages/channels do different things based on the presentation template selected by the site administrator. A presentation template is the predefined form that has been created to display the content on your website.
There are two types of presentation templates, dynamic and non-dynamic. The key element of presentation templates is called the query component—a behind the scenes “listener” that constantly scours the CMS and its database for content that matches the query’s defined criteria.
Different types of presentation templates available in the CMS can be viewed using the channels at right.
