The U-M Museum of Natural History (UMMNH) wants to know what you would like to learn, see and do in the new museum's exhibits this Friday through Tuesday, October 9-13.
Each month, Museum exhibit designers present an Exhibit Workshop to test out ideas for the new UMMNH in the Biological Science Building, now under construction just north of Ruthven Museums Building.
The informal, interactive, pop-up style workshop, located on the 4th floor of the current museum, reveals preliminary exhibit plans and encourages visitors to share their ideas.
This month's topic will be the "behind the scenes" spaces where visitors will be able to see into a working U-M biology lab and paleontology prep lab, learn about current U-M research projects at "Research Stations," and find out about U-M's world-class collections through changing displays in a "Collections Highlights" exhibit case. Come tell us what interests you about this topic and what you think about our early plans. We'd like to hear your ideas about future topics as well!
The Exhibit Workshop will be open 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Friday, October 9 through Tuesday, October 13 (Sunday Noon-5:00 PM).
