In anticipation of the February-May 2013 display of the traveling exhibit RACE: Are we so different?, the U-M Museum of Natural History is offering a continuing series of monthly community conversations to provide an opportunity for learning, sharing, discussion, and planning for larger scale dialogues, community action projects, and/or educational events. Our September discussion includes a presentation by J.R. Reynolds from the Calhoun County Race Impact Alliance who will share the successes and trials of organizing a community based organization centered on racial healing. He will also discuss his vision for an I-94 RACISM FREE corridor including Washtenaw, Jackson, Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties. The program is interactive and informative. See www.UnderstandingRaceProject.org for details and location.
