In anticipation of the February-May 2013 display of the traveling exhibit RACE: Are we so different?, the U-M Museum of Natural History is offering a series of community meetings to provide an opportunity for learning, sharing, discussion, and planning for larger scale dialogues, community action projects, and/or educational events. The June meetings invite community input for a small companion exhibit at the Museum on local issues around race, both historical and current. Community members will help identify topics of interest, provide information, and also help identify organizations who are currently working on issues of racial justice and healing. The mini-exhibit will open in the fall. RSVP to to ensure enough handouts and refreshments. See www.UnderstandingRaceProject.org for details.
