For those who would like to try archaeology, the Department of Anthropology is offering a course this fall that involves actual fieldwork. Students will learn how to conduct field surveys, map and excavate a site, and analyze artifacts in the laboratory. Introduction to Archaeological Field Methods (ANTHARC 482) is a 3-credit course that will prepare and position students to pursue more advanced archaeological fieldwork in the context of a field school, field research with a professor, and independent honors research. Fridays 1–4 p.m.
