All UMBS courses involve research, typically in the form of a group or individual research project. You will gain first-hand research experience simply by taking our classes.
However, you may wish to pursue your own research independent of any scheduled UMBS spring or summer courses. Our Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program allows students to collaborate with faculty on a research project, attend special workshops and group discussions, receive a $5,000 stipend, and spend an unforgettable summer up at UMBS.
The application for 2018 is open from now until February 15. This year's program will run from June 19 - August 18, 2018. Note: The undergraduate course EEB 400 and the graduate-level course EEB 700 are available if you wish to enroll for Independent Study credit and have a faculty advisor.
The Biological Station has many student research funding opportunities, and fellowship applications are due March 1.
