Northern Lights: Land, Water and Culture at the University of Michigan Biological Station
The University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS) has been the home to environmental research and classes for more than a century. This course will highlight historic and contemporary discoveries at UMBS and Michigan's "tip of the mitt" region.
Through lectures, discussions and guest speakers, you will see how field research is done and what it has taught us about the ways in which human activities affect landscapes, ecosystems, natural communities, organisms, and environmental quality.
