We are excited to announce that Tim Veverica has joined the Biological Station staff as Analytical Chemist. Veverica made his UMBS debut at the Winter Research Meeting in Ann Arbor, February 20-21. He recently completed his MS in Applied Ecology at Michigan Technological University, where he also earned a BS in Biological Sciences.  While at Michigan Tech, Veverica managed the daily operations of the Carbon, Water and Soils Laboratory of the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science.

Veverica says, “It takes a pretty cool place to convince me to move from the UP – something I think I've found at Douglas Lake.” A lifelong Michigander, first in the northern Lower Peninsula, then for 7 years in the Keweenaw Peninsula, Veverica says “How cool is it that I get to help study my own back yard?”

Not surprisingly for someone who has always lived “Up North,” Veverica enjoys skiing, cycling, gardening and other outdoors activities. He says he’s looking forward to snowy winters, busy summers, and “lots of good science at UMBS.”
