Sweetland Center for Writing, located in North Quad, is currently seeking undergraduate students to serve as  facilitators for Chat Cafe, a program for international and multilingual students who want to develop community and improve their conversational English skills.

Facilitators are undergraduate students who are interested in developing skills in leading intercultural conversations, learning more about language acquisition, and getting to know international and multilingual students at UM. Facilitators enroll in Writing 302: Global Communication: Rhetorical Approaches to Multilingual Conversation and facilitate one conversation circle with 6-7 participants each week during the semester. They may continue with the program, facilitating Chat Cafe circles, in subsequent semesters for pay. You can learn more about the program at this link: Chat Cafe information. The deadline to complete the brief, online application for Fall 2015 is Wednesday, April 1. A link to the application is available here on the Writing 302 page listed above.
