Open House: Working Effectively with Multilingual Writers in the University Classroom

Thursday, March 19, 2015
12:00 AM
North Quad 2435

Bring your questions about working with multilingual writers in the classroom to an Open House session and talk one-to-one with a multilingual specialist.

Do you have questions about getting multilingual students to talk in your classroom? Do you have questions about the comprehensibility of your course materials to multilingual students? Would you like advice or guidance in responding to and grading multilingual students’ written work? Bring questions—and samples of students’ work, if applicable—to Sweetland’s Open House on multilingual writers this semester. A package of resources to help you work with multilingual students will be provided, and a specialist in multilingual writing from the Sweetland Center for Writing will talk with you about your questions one-on-one. For more information, please contact workshop director Jing Xia at jxiaapl@umich.edu.

Light refreshments will be provided.
