The Sustainable Living Experience wants to support your sustainable living ideas! Oxford residents are invited to submit sustainability ideas or proposals to be considered for funding through the following avenues:

Sustainable Living Experience Minigrants, offering support of up to $200 to fund sustainability related projects and events at Oxford and beyond. This may include proposals such as event or trip ideas, minor sustainable infrastructure or resources at Oxford, or education or outreach projects.

The Student Sustainability Initiative (SSI) Small-Scale grants, with funds up to $2500 to support projects promoting environmental sustainability on campus (read more and apply directly here, or submit your idea to the SLE minigrant for consultation on where your project may fit best). SSI small-scale grants this year have a priority on zero waste, sustainability education and community awareness, but will consider all types of sustainability ideas. Cross-campus collaboration is encouraged for SSI grants.

The Planet Blue Student Innovation Fund (PBSIF) supports visible, innovative and transformative sustainability projects with funds from $5000-50000. Submit BIG IDEAS here (or receive consultation through the Minigrant form). SLE was started with a PBSIF grant! Concept proposals are due November 18th and final proposals are due January 10th. If you are interested in working with Professor Joe Trumpey on a PBSIF proposal related to developing a large Sustainable Living Complex using green building methods please complete the SLE Minigrant form or get in touch with him directly at jtrumpey@umich.edu.

Timeline: The first round of SLE Minigrants are due by 11:59pm on November 12th so that applicants can receive feedback in advance of the PBSIF concept proposal deadline. SLE Minigrants will open again winter semester and be considered on a rolling basis. SSI grants are also reviewed on a rolling basis and take 2-4 weeks to receive a response. PBSIF concept proposals are due November 18th.
