Let's get to know Andrew...

What inspired you to major in Sociology?

I took Law and Society sophomore year. Both Professor Levitsky and GSI Ian Bratcher's passion and encouragement inside and outside the classroom impressed me a great deal.

What do you hope to do after graduating from Michigan?

Immediately? Some sort of volunteer work. Would like to enter medical schools some time down the road.

What class have you most enjoyed? Why?

SOC 476: Sociology of Bioethics with Raymond DeVries, SOC 354: Law and Society with Sandra Levitsky, and SOC 461: Social Movements with Ian Robinson have been standouts.

What advice would you give to students considering a major in Sociology at UM?

The professors and GSIs in the Sociology department are really accommodating and open to conversation. If you come to class with the readings done and a hunger to learn, you will have a very rewarding experience.
