Hamtramck, Michigan – Piast Institute, a National Institute for Polish and Polish-American Affairs, is pleased to announce two events with the Pulitzer Prize winner and President of the Kosciuszko Foundation, Alex Storozynski.

Since Storozynski’s book “The Peasant Prince. Thaddeus Kosciuszko and the Age of Revolution” was released in April of 2009, it became an instant bestseller and sparked major interest from the American media. Storozynski appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered, C-Span’s Book TV, NPR’s Diane Rehm Show, and other popular media outlets to promote the Polish hero of the American Revolution. Now people in the Detroit area will have a chance to meet Alex Storozynski and learn more about the man who is second only to George Washington in the number of statues dedicated to him in the United States.

Piast Institute is pleased to announce that there will be two events with Alex Storozynski taking place in the Detroit area. The first event will be a Sherry Hour with the author on Tuesday, October 20 at 6pm at the Institute’s headquarters at 11633 Jos. Campau in Hamtramck. The attendance at this “meet and greet” event will be limited. Tickets will be $20 and each person attending will have an opportunity to purchase a signed copy of the book, along with drinks and appetizers. To reserve your ticket, please call the Institute at the number listed below. This event will be closed to the press.

The second event will take place at 7pm the Border’s Bookstore in Ann Arbor located at 612 E. Liberty St, near the University of Michigan campus, on Wednesday, October 21. Alex Storozynski will give a short lecture about Gen. Thaddeus Kosciuszko followed by a question and answer session and book signing. This event will be open to the public and we encourage everyone to attend.
