We know that financial considerations are often top of mind for students when deciding which school and program is best for them. Here at LSA Scholarships, we strive to make an education from the University of Michigan a financial reality for all students, regardless of their background.
For many LSA students—roughly 1,500 students in the last year alone—the scholarships provided by our office help reduce or eliminate unmet need and loan debt. The majority of our scholarships are awarded based on financial need, but we do offer a handful of merit scholarships each year as well.
Read on to learn more about our scholarships for incoming students and how to apply! If you’re a newly-admitted student still deciding whether LSA is the right fit for you, we encourage you to apply for our scholarships to see how we can help you fund your educational goals.
For incoming LSA students with financial need, our Four-Year Renewable Scholarships can make a big difference. Awards range from $5,000 to $10,000 for in-state students and $7,500 to $20,000 for out-of-state students per year, and they are renewable for four years of undergraduate study.

For incoming LSA students that demonstrate high academic achievement, exceptional talents, leadership qualities, or commitment to their communities, we do have a select number of merit scholarships available. Some merit scholarships are intended to aid students with financial need, and some are awarded solely based on a student's extraordinary background, regardless of their financial situation. Award amounts and durations vary depending on the scholarship.
