Welcome to the Residential College, a four year interdisciplinary liberal arts program within the College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. The RC, as you’ll come to know us, is a living-learning community of high-achieving students who share a global curiosity, a passion for participatory education, and a drive for creative exploration. We invite you to explore a unique community with a diversity of experiences and opportunities beyond what you ever thought higher education could be. Combining the vibrant intellectual atmosphere of a small liberal arts college with the resources of a large research university, the RC has been an active voice on campus since 1967 — join the conversation!

“Close interaction with professors, strong living/learning communities, a sense of belonging, sophomores wanting to live in the residence halls. What does this describe? The report of the President’s Committee on the Undergraduate Experience that spells out two things: guidelines for improving the undergraduate experience and the already existing living/learning community of the Residential College.
