NOTE: Different Time Than Usual

IceCube, a high-energy neutrino observatory at the South Pole that instruments a cubic kilometer of ice, has recently discovered astrophysical neutrinos, neutrinos originating from outside the solar system. With this discovery the era of neutrino astronomy has begun. In this talk I will make the case for neutrino astrophysics, discuss the details of the discovery, and present results of the first neutrino astronomy analysis.
