MIRA has initiated a program to support visitors and micro-workshops (less than $4,000 in scope). The intention of this program is to support efforts or visitors with a broader appeal than to an individual faculty member or department (i.e., this is meant to create new opportunities that do not currently exist, and is not meant to be a supplement to faculty or departmental discretionary funds). The total funding available for this program will vary from year to year, depending on how much funding is allocated to larger programs.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, and are assessed by the MIRA Executive Committee. Applications should include a brief description of the event (one to two paragraphs), a statement of how it will benefit the MIRA membership and a short budget. If applicable, additional funding sources should be included.
MIRA administration can assist with budget preparation as well as travel and hosting logistics.
