What sorts of poems are required for a revolution? What is the position of the poet at the moment of revolution?
Dr. Mersal will address these questions and others regarding the role of poetry and revolution. Her lecture will discuss these questions at two historical moments when the relationship between Egyptian poets and political commitments experienced shifts and transformations - in the 1990's and in the aftermath of the 2011 Egyptian uprising.
