Sociology Major of the Month

MCSP would like to congratulate Phancie Thompson, one of our very own Resident Advisors, for being honored as Major of the Month in the Sociology Department. Phancie is a junior at U-M double-majoring in Sociology and International Studies with a subplan in Law, Justice and Social Change. She is an active member of many campus organizations geared toward diversity and social justice. Get to know Phancie in this Sociology spotlight!

Keep up the good work, Phancie!

MCSPers Present on Global Education

Two of our very own MCSPers recently presented at a campus-wide presentation on global education. Vinita Chaudhary and Sophie Partington represented MCSP at the poster session for the "Engaging the World From Your Classroom" event. This event was sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Engagement and Interdisciplinary Academic Affairs. Vinita and Sophie presented their research on Middle Eastern Mentorship, and collaborated with faculty in the School of Education to develop their findings. They did a beautiful job, representing MCSP well. As student leaders within MCSP, Vinita and Sophie are examples of the impact MCSP has on students in the field of education and social change work. Congratulations to both!

Alumni Updates

We always encourage MCSP alums to remain connected to the program. After all, once an MCSPer, always an MCSPer! Our staff and office enjoy seeing updates from MCSP alums wherever they are, and see how the learning community has affected their lives.

Pictured here are some MCSP alums and lifelong friends, Jessica Feldman and Heather Camhi, on the beach in Hilton Head, South Carolina. MCSP brings people from all walks of life together at U-M, and builds lifelong friendships!

Alums! Stay updated with MCSP!
