Annual Winter Leadership Retreat
Every year, MCSP hosts a leadership retreat for student leaders, first-year students, and staff. This serves as a great opportunity to build camaraderie in the MCSP community, help MCSP students understand leadership, and create goals and opportunities for students to apply leadership skills in their communities. The retreat featured many team-bonding activities, as well as practices to promote self-care with one another.
MCSPistons with Coach Van Gundy
MCSP students had the unique opportunity to attend a Detroit Pistons game in January. Making their way down to the new Little Caesars Arena, MCSP first-year students and student leaders alike enjoyed a great game of basketball and supported the home team. After the game, the group had the opportunity to shoot free throws and were given exclusive access to the locker room and toured team facilities. Off court, Pistons Coach Stan Van Gundy met with and talked to MCSPers. It was a great evening for all those in attendance!
Alumni Gathering in Washington
MCSP always encourages its alumni to remain connected with the program and stay in touch. Recently, director David Schoem made a trip out to Washington, DC to reunite with MCSP alums working in the area. Pictured below are Amanda Hooper, Christina Beckman, Gilbert Nunez, Forrest Cox, Andie Vaught, Tanu Chaturvedi, Deena Marshall, Bethany Rogerston, Jessica Feldman, and Hannah Lee. The group enjoyed dinner with David, talked about their current plans, and reflected on their time within MCSP.
MCSP Skate Night at Yost
Student leaders and staff are always finding ways to provide social, community-bonding programming to first-year students in MCSP. Recently, MCSP led a skate night trip to Yost Ice Arena for both beginning and experienced skaters. It was a fun night for all!
