Please join us on Friday May 8th from 10:00–11:30am in room 2001 LSA. Brock Palen from U-M ARC Technical Services will give an introduction to Hadoop. Learn how to handle BigData and the how these tools can be helpful for IT staff. SQL for BigData and Spark will also be covered. You should consider attending because Hadoop is increasingly being used across campus for will be useful for structured and unstructured data.
If you want to follow along with hands-on examples, bring a laptop and also request a free account on the campus cluster by filling out the form and in the "Please describe the project" box, put that you need access to Hadoop for the training.
