Marlyse Baptista and Samuel Epstein were inducted on March 22nd into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest, most selective, and most prestigious all-discipline honor society. They were nominated by students for their outstanding teaching and other accomplishments on behalf of the College of LS&A. Marlyse and Sam join a select group of around 60 other UM faculty as non-student members of Phi Kappa Phi - including Provost Martha Pollock, former president Mary-Sue Coleman, and current president Mark Schlissel (who was inducted as member at the same ceremony as Marlyse and Sam). You can also read more about this event in The University Record. Congratulations, Marlyse and Sam, on this recognition!
