Shana Poplack's paper on the role of language contact in the development of phrase-final prepositions in Quebec French
At the second meeting of our Journal Club we will discuss Shana Poplack's new paper on the development of phrase-final prepositions in Quebec French. This paper is a perfect example of the type of research that integrates syntactic theory with research on language contact and sociolinguistics.
The paper can be downloaded via the Library's catalog. You can also contact Andries Coetzee for a copy of the paper.
All is welcome! Please read the paper before hand so that we can together explore what can be learned from the paper.
