Responsibilities*
The successful candidate will design and teach a 3-credit upper-level undergraduate course in Latina/o/x Studies. Well-crafted proposals for a course on Latina/o/x people or themes in literature, history, popular culture, or other topic, are welcome, as are courses that deal with Latina/o/x subjects within a comparative, thematic, or transnational frame.  In the case of comparative or thematic courses, at least one third of the course content should be Latina/o/x. focused.  In the case of transnational courses, at least half of the course should relate to Latina/o/x experiences, cultures, or themes in the United States.  In all cases, the course should offer students the methods and tools for studying, analyzing, and writing about Latina/o/x identity, community, culture, and/or representations, including critical analysis of race, class, gender, and/or sexuality. 


Required Qualifications*
Terminal or graduate degree in American Studies, Latina/o Studies, literature, history, anthropology, sociology, media studies, or other related field.  Teaching experience at the college/university level is preferred. 


Desired Qualifications*

Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in American Studies or Latina/o Studies.
