The Human Rights Crisis in Honduras

Father Ismael Moreno, known as "Padre Melo," is a Jesuit priest and director of Radio Progreso, a radio station in Honduras known for its independent progressive stand for human justice in Honduras. An outspoken critic of the coup d'etat in 2009, Padre Melo has had his life threatened and Radio Progreso has been raided by military troops. Padre Melo will address the role of U.S. militarism in Honduras and its effects on the people's rights related to land, food security, and ecological sustainability.
