The Ragbirds are a 5-piece folk-rock-world music fusion band based in Ann Arbor. They’ll be playing The Ark on Saturday, 10/18, but two days before the show you get to hear them and talk with them about their music and other efforts. Led by fiddler and vocalist Erin Zindle, the group’s sound has sources in Gypsy, Middle-Eastern, Latin, Celtic and American traditions, blending traditional and modern sounds into an “infectious global groove.” The band tours nationally not only to play music but also to lead “green touring” workshops, demonstrating sustainable practices through their van, reconfigured to run on waste vegetable oil.
