Two faculty from the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures will present at the inaugural meeting of the "Media Inventories of the Nineteenth Century" workshop at Dartmouth College March 9-10, 2018. The workshop brings together scholars from different fields of study working on media, literary, and cultural history to address a variety of nineteenth-century media.

Associate Professor Peter McIsaac will present "Sales Catalogs and Guides to Popular Anatomical Exhibitions as Complex Medial Forms" at the "Intermedialities" roundtable.

Assistant Professor Tyler Whitney will present "Media and Literary Histories of Phonography" at the "Inventories of the Material and the Natural" roundtable.

Former Michigan Society of Fellows and U-M Germanic department member Alice Goff (now Assistant Professor of German History at the University of Chicago) will also be a roundtable speaker at the workshop.
