Kristin Dickinson, assistant professor of Germanic languages and literatures, is the recipient of this year's Charles Bernheimer prize. Awarded by the American Comparative Literature Association (ACLA), the prize recognizes the best dissertation in comparative literature nominated by a department or program, regardless of departmental affiliation. Dickinson’s dissertation, Translation and the Experience of Modernity: A History of German Turkish Connectivity, was nominated by Berkeley.  The prize carries an award of $1,000 and a certificate, which will be presented to Dickinson at the 2017 ACLA Annual Meeting in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
