Johannes von Moltke recently co-edited a volume of essays on Siegfried Kracauer entitled Siegfried Kracauers Grenzgänge: Zur Rettung des Realen. Bringing together historical, literary, and media theoretical perspectives, the volume includes contributions from Thomas Elsaesser, Inka Mülder-Bach, Jörg Später, and many more. von Moltke contributed an article on Kracauer’s Theory of Film in the context of the Cold War, which draws on his previous work in The Curious Humanist. The volume grew out of a conference he co-organized with Helmut Lethen and Sabine Biebl at the IFK in Vienna.
