On February 13, Juliana Barr, associate professor and Jessie Ball duPont-Magid Term Professor at the University of Florida, presented "Cross Cultures: Spanish Travelers on Indian Highways in the 16th-Century Southwest." Her talk, part of the Thursday Speaker Series for the Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies, considered the relations between Native Americans and Spaniards in the 1500s. The event continued the Institute's 2013-15 theme, "Materials of History."

On February 14, graduate students Sophie Hunt, Jeremy Ledger, and Andrew Rutledge presented the workshop, "Shifting Geographies: Mapping Places, Mapping Things." Professor Susan Juster chaired.
